Meet Juline
Juline Birgersson was raised right here in Minnesota. Juline attended public schools and went on to attend Bethel University where she earned her B.A. in Political Science and History. During her time at Bethel, she completed a Washington D.C. internship with the honorable U.S. Senator Richard D. Lugar of Indiana.
Juline is married to Peter, a naturalized United States citizen born and raised in Sweden. After living six years overseas with her husband, Juline is fluent in Swedish. Juline understands well both the emigration and immigration processes of a foreign country and the United States. As a couple, they visit Sweden yearly to reconnect with family and friends.
During her career both in Minnesota and Sweden, Juline worked in sales and marketing. Juline excelled in learning the shipping, wholesale grocery, pharmacy benefit management, and senior care industries. At her retirement, Juline worked as editor of a senior care magazine assisting seniors find the safest and most comfortable living options. Juline also worked in medium-size, family-owned manufacturing and publishing businesses.
Juline, along with her husband Peter, enjoy walking, hiking, swimming, weightlifting and playing with their dog Gunnar, a black Labrador Retriever.
On the Issues
Fighting Fraud
The $9 billion in taxpayer-funded fraud in state government negatively affects every household budget in Minnesota. More importantly, the fraud, waste and abuse caused deserving Minnesotans to lose the help they need to live dignified lives. We deserve to know our hard-earned wages are spent wisely and effectively – and not used to fund personal wealth and foreign bank accounts. In my position as state senator, I will vote to investigate, charge, prosecute and sentence all fraudulent activity in every level of state government.
Assuring Financial Accountability
Minnesota families cannot afford the increasing gas taxes, retail taxes, property taxes, vehicle tab fees to fund an ever-increasing social welfare state – and one that’s been fraught with fraud, waste and abuse. Minnesota taxpayers, who manage their own personal finances without dipping into others’ pockets, keep the right to have their taxes spent wisely and judiciously.
Supporting Public Safety
In my thirty plus years of service to my community as a Neighborhood Watch Block Captain, our neighborhood came together to safely launch many kids, keep our seniors from harm, and protect our property. I stand with our law enforcement agencies and partners to effectively carry out their sworn duties, ultimately creating safe neighborhoods and cities where we all can thrive.
